Drain Camera Inspection

A camera run through your drain line shows exactly what is causing the problem, so the right fix is planned before any digging starts.

What Is a
Drain Camera Inspection?

A drain camera inspection sends a small waterproof camera on a flexible cable through your drain or sewer line.

The live video shows the inside of the pipe, so the technician can see blockages, buildup and damage instead of guessing from the surface.

It is the most direct way to find the cause of a recurring problem and to decide whether the line needs cleaning, a repair or a replacement.

When You May Need It

A camera inspection makes sense when a problem keeps coming back or the cause is not obvious.

  • Recurring Clogs

The same drain keeps backing up, even after it has already been cleared.

  • Slow Drainage

Water drains slowly from multiple fixtures or from a basement floor drain.

  • Pipe Damage

Older pipes or nearby tree roots can cause cracks, damage or collapsed sections.

  • Hidden Problems

Odors, gurgling or backups can point to problems hidden inside the drain line.

What to Expect

We feed the camera through a cleanout or drain opening, review the footage with you and explain the next step before any work starts.

  • Blockages and Buildup

Grease, scale and debris that narrow the line and slow drainage.

  • Tree Root Intrusion

Roots that get in through joints or cracks and keep causing clogs.

  • Cracks and Collapses

Broken, cracked or collapsed sections of pipe that need repair.

  • Sags and Joint Problems

Low spots, offsets or separated joints where water and waste collect.

Frequently Asked Questions

A sewer camera inspection costs $200 at Drain Ridge. Drain snaking combined with a camera inspection costs $350.

No, the camera is fed through a cleanout or an existing drain opening. Digging is only planned after the footage shows exactly where a repair is needed.

Yes, the live video shows roots, cracks, sags, and blockages inside the pipe. It also shows how far from the house the problem is, which helps plan the right repair.

We recommend it for older homes, because the sewer line is not checked in a standard home inspection. The footage shows the condition of the line before you commit to the purchase.
